30 Vendor Tak Berani Ajukan Harga Pompa

30 Vendors Do Not Dare Propose Pump Prices

Dozens of vendors who join the auction for water pumps procurement do not dare to give offers. It is allegedly due to rupiah exchange rate against US dollar fluctuation.

They are afraid offering us possibly due to dollar exchange hike

“They are afraid offering us possibly due to dollar exchange hike,” said Kasna, Head of North Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department, Friday (10/23).

Kebon Baru Pump Machine Ready to Operate

According to Kasna, this year, the regional working unit (UKPD) is going to tender 8 pump at the price of Rp 58.4 billion. Those would be spread in Artha Gading with four units, Kampung Sepatan with two units and Betik River with two units.

He admitted that budgeting was drafted before any rate hikes. Surely, the increase in rupiah exchange rate will impact on goods purchase by the vendor.

“Besides, its implementation time is too tight. If it is failed, we had to allocate it for goods procurement next year,” he uttered.

Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta Water Management Department, Tri Djoko Margianto admitted that pump procurement proposed by department and sub-department threatened to be cancelled.

“We'll ask the detail to sub-Department why the procurement is cancel. We’ll investigate it first,” he disclosed.
