Water channel along Jalan Malaka, Cilincing, North Jakarta, cleaned. Tens of joint officers were deployed to dredge trash and sediment clogging the water flow.

Cilincing Sub-District Head, Nana Hendriana stated that the joint officers consist of 10 Satpol PP personnel, 8 cleanliness freelancers and 40 Infrastructures and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers.

"We're afraid the water would overflow the road when rainy season," he said, Monday (10/26).

Before dredging the channel, 1 excavator was sent to open the water channel under the inrit. "The inrit have to be demolished first to dredge the channel," he explained.

Beritajakarta.com observation, one officer was running the excavator to demolish the inrit while the others transported the sediment and the inrit debris.

After being dredged, he continued, it is hoped the local residents could maintain the channel cleanliness. "So we hope residents to maintain the cleanliness," he hoped.
