City to Take Over Bantar Gebang Landfill Management

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama acsertained to take over Bantar Gebang landfill (TPST) from PT Godang Tua Jaya (GTJ). It is due to they have break the agreement of trash management that been dealt.

Ahok admitted that he has sent first warning letter to PT GJT due to fail in providing service constitute a breach of contract (wanprestasi).

“We’ve sent them first warning letter. The certain thing is we wanna take over Bantar Gebang landfill,” he said at City Hall, Monday (10/26).

However, he wonder about tipping fee payment against PT GTJ. It is because the land used is belongs to City Administration thus the fee supposed to enter Bekasi City treasure.

“This is our land, why then do we have to pay for it?" he expressed.

Ahok suspected a conspiracy between Bekasi Legislative Council and PT GTJ. Whereas a huge amounted Rp 400 billion per year have been paid to PT GTJ. But in fact the facility there does not meet any standard or specification.

“I got their words. PT GTJ have failed to provide service constitute a breach of contract whereas we have paid them for Rp 400 billion. One thing that I wonder why Bekasi Council has never complaint to PT GTJ,” he asserted.
