Rice Market Operation to Be Conducted in the Upcoming November

Although the rice stocks in the capital is safe, the market operation (OP) will remain still be conducted in order to stabilize its price in the market.

Head of Jakarta Economy Bureau, Adi Ariantara stated the current rice supply in Cipinang Wholesale Market reaches 33,000 tons.

City Prepares 75,000 Tons of Rice Stock

On the other hands, PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya has requested rice stock up to 75,000 tons to Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama. "The request would then be forwarded to Jakarta-Banten Rice Logictic Agency (Bulog)," he told.

 

President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Arief Prasetyo Adi stated the rice stock request is for November-March. Bulog's rice would be distributed to resident if rice stock in PT Food Station Tjipinang was less than 25,000 tons.

 

“We’ll conduct test case in upcoming November to distribute 75,000 tons of rice. We’ll submit it whether it affect rice price or not,” he finished.
