Bareskrim Involved to Boost Local Tax Revenue

Jakarta Tax Service Department is about to cooperate with the National Police Criminal Investigation Corps (Bareskrim) in an effort to boost local tax revenue in the capital.

Through this cooperation, there is indeed deposit improvement from taxpayer, which is reaching Rp 11 billion from four tax sources, namely restaurant, hotel, parking and entertainment

"Through this cooperation, there is indeed deposit improvement from taxpayer, which is reaching Rp 11 billion from four tax sources, namely restaurant, hotel, parking and entertainment," disclosed Head of West Jakarta Tax Service Sub-Department, Umiyati, Monday (11/2).

Umiyati stated, as many as 937 taxpayers in West Jakarta are still in arrears. "From that number, most of them are still delinquent restaurant tax with 730 taxpayers, followed by entertainment with 67 taxpayers, parking with 25 taxpayers and hotel with 115 taxpayers,” she reported.

She continued, her sub-department also has joint team containing the Development Finance Comptoller (BPKP) which serves to check taxpayer. "Currently, the team has been conducting checking in 75 hotels," she continued.

Umiyati also has charging unit, namely Active Billing Unit (UPA). Yet, it does not run due to ineffective since September 2015.
