Basuki: Traditional Market Will Have Better Toilet in 2016

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama asked PD Pasar Jaya to upgrade toilet in the markets and not inferior to the malls. Due to all this time, the toilet looks dirty, smell and slum. Moreover, some markets have been revitalized.

"So far, PD Pasar Jaya works better. We want them to have better toilet and not inferior to the mall," said Ahok, when he opened a work meeting of PD Pasar Jaya, at City Hall, Tuesday (11/3).

He shared his experience when he met Saudi Arabia entrepreneurs. They praised Jakarta toilets are very clean and nice. "They said that toilets in Jakarta are perfumed and clean. I thought, they had visited toilet in Borobudur Hotel," he expressed.

Hence, in 2016, the whole toilet in the market should be clean. That means, traditional market could be a tourist site in Jakarta but it must be packaged well. Thus it can operate 24 hours.

"Next year, all markets in market must be clean and perfumed," he requested.

Director of PD Pasar Jaya, Luthfi Rachman admitted he was ready to realize the governor's request. Next year, as many as 10 markets would be revitalized into folk market.

"We will keep toilet clean and perfumed," he promised.

In addition, he urged the visitor and peddler to remain maintain cleanliness.
