Basuki-Purwakarta Regent Discussed Raw Water Supply

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama (Ahok), was visited by Purwakarta Regent, Dedi Mulyadi at City Hall, Wednesday (11/4). They discussed about raw water distribution to Jakarta.

It also aimed to maintain the preservation of the reservoir

At this time, the raw water distribution to Jakarta depends on Jatiluhur reservoir, Purwakarta. That is why the governor wants to buy some of water source in Purwakarta to add the water debit in Jatiluhur reservoir.

"It also aimed to maintain the preservation of the reservoir," Basuki said, Wednesday (11/4).

Basuki Wants Ciliwung as Raw Water Source

Another plan is buying trees around the location to stabilize the water. But this plan will be discussed with the city council first.

"We must report to the city council about this plan. Buying is simple compared to planting," he added.

Meanwhile, Dedi stated that the water distribution from Jatiluhur to Jakarta is 19 thousand liter per second, but the leak is 40 percent. If the pipe is installed, the leak could reduce to 35 percent.

"The distribution is still safe eventhough the leak is 35 percent," he stated.
