HIV/AIDS Socialization must Be Conducted Routinely

An Assistant for West Jakarta Public Welfare, Mochamad Andi encourages every sub-district and urban village to draft a special budget for the prevention of HIV/AIDS epidemic. Its socialization should be done routinely.

Because, those suffering from HIV or AIDS are embarrassed to admit it

"Because there is a legal basis that every urban village and sub-district to draft a budget," expressed Andi, when he filled material in the activity of Accelerating on Prevention of HIV/AIDS Epidemic, Thursday (11/5).

Jakarta AIDS Information System Re-Activated

According to him, all this time, the HIV/AIDS socialization is not maximally yet conducted in urban village and sub-district. As a matter of fact, the Mayor Instruction No. 3/2014 on the empowerment of HIV/AIDS has clearly been set.

"Once again, that the urban village and sub-district are required to allocate a budget to support the sustainability of HIV/AIDS program," he stated.

He added that the socialization about HIV/AIDS in every urban village should ideally be held at least twice a month. "Because, those suffering from HIV or AIDS are embarrassed to admit it. That's why, there must be role of urban village and sub-district heads," he closed.
