City Gears Up to Promote IKM Products

Head of Industry Section for Jakarta Industry and Energy Department, Edward Napitupulu revealed his department will seek to help promote products belonging to 29,000 small and medium industries (IKM) in five municipalities and one regent.

Napitupulu said the promotional assistance is given to motivate tens of thousands of IKMs competing with foreign products. He also has coordinated with supermarkets and malls where they required providing trade site for IKM.

"We also have explored the communication with online stores, namely Zalora. There are also gas stations owned by Pertamina, in which the IKM's trade site can be set up in each minimart," he told, Thursday (11/5).

Aside that, to support capital, Bank DKI and Bank BRI are certainly ready to help. In future, the IKM will be trained to further improve their product quality.

"We have issued 75 halal certificates to IKM this year for free. In addition, we helped the processing of 60 business brands and patent rights of IKM products in the Directorate General of Haki (Intellectual Property Rights)," he uttered.
