The City Police's Traffic Directorate formed a flood task force (satgas) to anticipate traffic congestion, puddle, flood and fallen tree in the capital and its surrounding areas.

“ The main duty is anticipating initial impact of flooding. As like couple time ago, flood led to congestion in some locations ,” said Sr. Comr. Adj Valentino Tatareda, Vice Director of City Police Traffic, Tuesday (11/10).

Tatareda acknowledged they will also control vehicle density that caused motorist sheltering in underpass or flyover.

“We’ll take initial step, in which we would do various ways to prevent rain impact after rainy season,” he uttered.

According to him, around 200 personnel would be alerted in flood-prone areas.

“They will be equipped with 20 units of ranger car, motor trail, saws machine, water pump, rubber tire, etc,” he finished.
