Flood Handling in W. Jakarta to Involve Sub-District

West Jakarta Administration is ready to face rainy season and flood by involving sub-district side.

"We have decided to be ready facing rainy season by coordinating with sub-district side," said West Jakarta Head Sub-dept. of Water Management, Pahala Tua, Tuesday (11/10).

He requested sub-district side to inform puddle spot which needs to be handled immediately. "Several days ago, we normalized channel along Jalan Raya Kapuk Peternakan," he added.

Headmen Asked to Monitor Pump Machines

Besides dredging water channel, his side also ensured 100 pumps which are including 29 stationary pumps are ready to operate.

"The damaged stationary pumps have been repaired," he continued.

Pahala admitted the puddle in several roads in West Jakarta were caused by geographic condition, such as in front of Central Park Mal on Jalan S. Parman.

"During rain pouring yesterday, we've seen the condition of puddle. The water cannot flow into the channel due to holes," he stated.
