East Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department is alerting portable pump in Ciliwung River normalization work, Kampung Pulo, Kampung Melayu Urban Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

This pump is in Bidara Cina. We just wait for our boss' instruction to operate it.

Previously, the 30-centimeter-high flood had inundated teens of houses at RW 03, Gg. IV, Kampung Pulo, last Monday (11/9). Aside that, the box culvert that drains off water from citizen residential towards Ciliwung RIver was malfunctioned due to soil piles from normalization project and trash.

The pump with a capacity of 1,000 liters per second was slated to be attached in flood-prone areas when the river overflowed and poured by rain with high intensity.

“This pump is in Bidara Cina. We just wait for our boss' instruction to operate it. Solar fuel is ready, where it can last three days ahead,” said Ferdi, Operator of Bidara Cina Pump House, Tuesday (11/10).

Head of East Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department, Yazied Bustomi acknoweldged that another pump has been prepared. "And its placement has been coordinated with local urban villages," he finished.
