Budget for KBT maintenance is not reaching up to Rp 15 billion
Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama questioned a huge budget proposal for maintenance of East Flood Canal (KBT) in policy of 2016 City Budget (APBD)'s priorities and preliminary thresholds (KUA PPAS) that was proposed by Water Management Department.

Budget for KBT maintenance is not reaching up to Rp 15 billion. If it is collapsed, its repair budget is even lower,” he asserted, during executive meeting, Friday (11/20) night.
He highlighted the salary budget by Rp 3.240 billion for 100 freelancers who serve to do monitor the 25-kilometer KBT.
Then he asked his team to conduct checking in the field. Surprisingly, there were no freelancers conduct any monitoring.
Even, from such report, freelancer existence is only exist at KBT sluice gate under Ministry.
“I want the name lists of freelancer and contract worker, including account number must already exist on my desk on Monday. If this is fictitious, I will process it,” he asserted.
Another case criticized is budget for cement procurement worth Rp 500 million to maintain KBT's sheet pile. Whereas, he stressed, its maintenance does not much need cement.
