73 Buildings in Kampung Melayu will Be Demolished Today

As many as 320 joint officers are deployed to demolish 73 buildings in Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

Today, we're demolishing the buildings because they are standing on water channel, sidewalk and the roadside

 

Mayor of East Jakarta, Bambang Musyawardhana stated that the joint personnel deployed consisted of Satpol PP, Army, urban village, sub-district apparatus, Water Management, Cleanliness Sub-Departments, and Infrastructures and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU).

"Today, we're demolishing the buildings because they are standing on water channel, sidewalk and the roadside,” he said, after the demolishment muster on parking lot of Bukit Duri Permai shopping complex, Monday (11/23).

 

The points focused are on Jalan Kebon Pala 1 and 2, Jalan Permata 1 and 2 and also Jalan Matraman Jaya.

 

"After the buildings are demolished, the water channel will be normalized by East Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department. Since the rainy season is coming, the puddle-prone channels must be normalized," he disclosed.

 

In the demolishment, the government prepared 1 bulldozer and 10 trucks for transporting the material.
