BPBD Sets 8 Detectors of Flood Early Warning
The Meteorology, Climatology and
Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts rainfall potential in late January is between 20-280 milimeters, and 20-300 milimeters in early February.
Afterwards, rain potential of 120-400 milimeters predicted to happen in February and
280-400 milimeters in late February.
Jakarta Disaster Management Agency
Head, Denny Wahyu Heriyanto mentioned three causes of flood in Jakarta such as
transferred flood from Bogor, rain and tidal waves.
“Our hope is rain debit can distribute
in a long time to prevent flood,” he explained, Monday (11/23).
Nevertheless, his side is optimistic flood will recede rapidly as because Water Management Department
has prepared massive river normalization and dredging work against whole channels in Jakarta.
“We gonna draft flood mitigation based on BMKG’s statistic result this week,” he closed.
