Tugu Selatan Urban Village Head, Sukarmin stated, for the initial phase, Berkah Waste Bank that has been operated since June 2019 will be developed in 5 RWs.
"Actually, Berkah Waste Bank is prepared to be a pilot project. After it operates well, we will develop it to the local community," he stated, Saturday (11/21).
According to him, waste bank was projected to reduce waste produced by local environment. In addition, the 'saving' waste activity, where people sorted their household waste and sold it to waste bank, was expected to support family economic empowerment.
There were 5 RWs which targeted for Berkah Waste Bank development. Those are RW 01, 02, 03, 04 and 05. So far, socialization has been carried out in RW 02, 03, and 04.
"Hopefully residents in each RTs will start sorting their household waste to reduce waste transported to landfill," he asserted.
