19,675 People Visit Ragunan Zoo on Islamic New Year

The number of people visiting Ragunan Zoo, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, reached 19,675 during the Islamic New Year holiday, 1 Muharram 1447 Hijri.

"Our target for this long holiday is to attract 70,000 visitors,"

Ragunan Zoo Public Relations Head, Wahyudi Bambang, said the visitors consisted of 1,800 people who purchased tickets online and 17,875 who bought tickets on-site.

Long Holiday, Passengers Flock to Pulo Gebang Bus Terminal

"Alhamdulillah, the weather is clear today, so the number of visitors on this public holiday has surged," he said on Friday (6/27).

Wahyudi detailed, 19,675 visitors arrived using 1,741 motorcycles, 1,644 cars, nine buses, and 113 bicycles.

"If it gets crowded, we've already prepared additional parking areas to accommodate their vehicles," he added. 

As of this afternoon, 405 visitors had brought their children to the Children's Zoo (TSA) and 1,187 people visited Schmutzer Primate Center (PPS).

"Our target for this long holiday is to attract 70,000 visitors from June 27 to 29, 2025," he revealed.

Ahmad Rizal (34), one of the visitors, chose to spend the holiday at Ragunan Zoo due to its affordable entry fee and easy access by public transport.

“It’s school break too, so I brought my child here instead of staying at home and getting bored,” he said.
