Starting in 2016, every RW in Jakarta obliged to have waste bank. As the initial stage, today every sub-districts are required to have at least 5 waste banks.

Department, Ali Maulana Hakim stated the implementation will be done
gradually.
Hakim stated all sub districts must
report and show 5 waste banks physically in field.
“Demotion is a reward for

Waste bank functions to accommodate
trash yet it also has economic value.
There are 2,700 RW in Jakarta
today. From the total number, merely 234 RW’s already have waste bank. “Most of
them are inactive due to it doesn’t manage well,” he expressed.
