Water Channel at Jalan Dwiwarna Back to Normal

After almost 30 years not been dredged due to blocked by illegal buildings, water channel at Jalan Dwiwarna Raya, Kartini Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, already back to normal.

Now, it's been a few days no flood at all

Beritajakarta.com observation, the sheet pile has been elevated so that it can reserve more water when raining.

All of the buildings on it have also been demolished. On each 3 meters was made a hold which can be opened and closed for cleaning the channel

Water Channel on Jalan Anggrek Cleaned From Mud & Trash

Kartini Urban Village Head, Leo Tantino stated currently the sheet pile installation process is on final step. In the near future trash disposed by local residents will be cleaned again.

"The channel already back to normal, the height is 2 meters and the width is 1,5 meter. It's all because of cooperation of mayor level and residents who support it," said Leo, Wednesday (12/9).

"We hope eventually flower pots could be put on to make it looks comfortable. We have also coordinated with the Bina Marga Sub-Department to elevate the road for balancing the sheet pile elevated before," he added.

Chairman of RW 01, Kartini Urban Village, Jhoni mentioned on behalf of residents his side thanks to the government that has completed the channel cleaning.

"Now, it's been a few days no flood at all," he explained.
