World's AIDS Day, 250 VCT Services Prepared in Central Jakarta

As many as 250 Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) services are prepared in Central Jakarta as the commemoration of World's AIDS Day.

This VCT is facilitated by Central Jakarta Health Sub-Department through 4 Community Health Centers that have participated

The 250 VCTs are for participants from Jakarta Representative Council for Organization of Land Transportation Owners (Organda) 30 test tools, Infrastructures and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers 120 test tools and Satpol PP personnel 80 test tools.

Head of Monitoring and Evaluation Section for Central Jakarta AIDS Handling Commission (KPAK), Imam Mulyadi stated that the program held today is participated by PPSU officers from 20 urban villages including Gambir, Menteng and Kebon Sirih Urban Village.

VCT HIV/AIDS to Students must Be Intensified

Besides that, the program is also enlivened by representatives from 6 High schools, they are SMA SKPD Mandiri, Santa Usula, SMA Santa Theresia, SMAN  35, SMKN  38 dan SMAN 1 Central Jakarta.

"This VCT is facilitated by Central Jakarta Health Sub-Department through 4 Community Health Centers that have participated. Those are Menteng, Tanah Abang, Gambir and Sawah Besar Health Center," he explained, Thursday (12/10).

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Arifin said that his side welcomed well such program. According to him, HIV/AIDS virus contagion in Jakarta is getting worse so that it needs new strategy to anticipate it.

"The handling should be inserted to some systems, particularly in health service," he disclosed.
