HIV/AIDS Councelling Clinic in Seribu Island Appreciated

Seribu Islands Regency Administration inaugurated the first Voluntary Counseling Test (VCT) Clinic in Kelapa Island Community Health Center (Puskesmas), North Seribu Islands Sub-District.

And do not hesitate do blood check-up, either resident or tourist

Seribu Islands Regency Secretary, Ismer Harahap, positively welcomed the Seribu Islands Health Sub-Dept's way that has inaugurated the VCT clinic, which is a measure to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.

"This effort should be supported, to anticipate the HIV/AIDS. And do not hesitate do blood check-up, either resident or tourist," he stated, after he inaugurated the clinic, Wednesday (11/18).

HIV/AIDS Education in Schools Needs to Be Held Routinely

Even though there has never been HIV/AIDS case in Seribu Islands, vigilance needs to be improved.

"It could be a contagious disease comes from tourists in our island, so local and foreign tourists must routinely for checking and avoid deviant behavior," he asserted.

Such clinic's name is VCT Edelweiss, in which its inauguration was marked with a ribbon cutting by Ismer Harahap.
