Rumpon Dropped Into Pelangi Island Waters

A rumpon fishing cage in diameter 5x2 meters and 8x2 meters is dropped into Pelangi Island waters, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Seribu Island, by diver team of Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-Department and led directly by the Regent, Budi Utomo

The activity aims to conserve sea ecosystem and corals, as rumpon is believed can be a house for protecting and breeding fish

Harapan Island Urban Village Head, Angga Saputra stated that dropping the rumpon is expected to be beneficial in a long term for sea biota conservation.

"The activity aims to conserve sea ecosystem and corals, as rumpon is believed can be a house for protecting and breeding fish," he stated.

Searching of Drowning Victim in Seribu Islands Continued

He added, rumpon can also be navigation meeting point for fishes which have high economic value.

"It's also as an effort to main food security for next generation," he disclosed.
