Basuki: For Me, Every Day is Mother's Day

After being declared by Founding Father, President Soekarno through President Decree No.318/1959, Indonesian people began to celebrate Mother’s Day, which falls on December 22. But unlike the case of the words stated by Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, for him, the Mother's Day is every day.

For me, every day is Mother’s Day,” he said, when he became a ceremony inspector of Morther’s Day Commemoration in Monas, Tuesday (12/22).

In the 87th Mother’s Day, he does not prepare special gifts for his mother, Buniarti Ningsih. “Honestly, I haven’t prepare any ritual or gift for my mother. I just hold the commemoration for reminding youth generation to be more aware,” he uttered.

He stated he never miss to contact his mom. “I routinely contact my mom every day,” he finished.
