Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama stated the construction of athlete guesthouse has been transferred to Ministry of Public Housing (Kemenpera) . Jakarta Provincial Government is only required to renovate the velodrome and Light Rapid Transit (LRT) construction.

"Ministry of Public Housing will handle athlete guesthouse construction. And us, just manage velodrome," he uttered, at City Hall, Monday (12/28).

Although the construction has been transferred, it is not really disappointed. Moreover, Jakarta government did not get permission from House of Representatives (DPR RI) for land use in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

"We're just fine instead. If we managed it, we will spend a lot of money," he expressed.

Jakarta government itself had some preparation of athletes village construction. They are design and auction. The auction winner is already exist, namely PT Wijaya Karya. "If they want the project complete fast, they have to sue our design," he said.
