Passenger Boats Asked to Beware of Extreme Weather

Helmsmen and crews of boat passengers in Seribu Islands should beware of extreme weather. This is because the New Year’s Eve coincides with west wind season.

The current weather is unfriendly, so for those both from Kali Adem or Marina Ancol must still follow the rules. Provide the safety equipments such as life jackets and radio call

"We appeal helmsmen and the boat crews to stay beware, prioritize the passengers safety and convenience, don't just make the profit," said Seribu Islands Regent, Budi Utomo, Thursday (12/31).

He told that boats are not allowed to transport passengers beyond the capacity. The safety equipments must also be provided.

He also asked the local Transportation Sub-Department to tighten the monitoring towards the boat or passengers regarding their luggages.
