"Initially, there were 1,726 janitors, but now it decreased to 908 janitors. The rest 579 janitors are spread to clean up street and 239 others clean up connecting channel. They are managed by urban village apparatus," said Head of West Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-dept, Djafar Muklisin, Thursday (1/28).
Besides janitors, his sub-dept also installed trash filter machines in some rivers and prepared dump trucks to pick up trash from channel and river every day. This is because, trash handling in every area is different following trash volume.
