Jokowi Upset over Low Budget-Spending Last Year

Jakarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo was upset with the Regional Working Units (SKPD) related to the city budget-spending in 2013 which failed to meet the target by 97 percent out of total budget Rp 51 trillion.

"Money circulation is increasing, and our economic growth is high. But, the remaining budget appeared as Rp 7 trillion," Jokowi said during a briefing with hundreds of civil servants at City Hall, Thursday (4/10).

Anyway, the governor gave appreciated to SKPD that was having good budget-spending level such as Dept. of Fire and Disaster Handling by 94.7 percent, Dept. of Social 93.8 percent, Dept. of Tourism and Culture 93.4 percent, Dept. of Population and Civil Registration 90 percent, and Dept. of Manpower and Transmigration 90.2 percent.
Moreover, the West Jakarta Sub-dept. of Culture reached 99.4 percent, West Jakarta Sub-dept. of Manpower 99.12 percent, West Jakarta Sub-dept. of Social 99.01 percent, and Central Jakarta Sub-dept. of Tourism 98.31 percent.
The governor admitted that awareness in spending this year budget must be maintained well. Starting this year, the budget-spending will be protected especially for agencies with bigger allocation. Up to April 8, the budget-spending of city government was only 4.56 percent.
