Here is Scheme of Water Flow from Manggarai

System of water management in Manggarai Sluice Gate to the Java sea is conducted gradually. It is aimed to reduce flood from Ciliwung River and West Flood Canal (KBB).

Water to Ciliwung will be flowed to Istiqlal Mosque, to west side-Jalan Gajah Mada, until sluice tank and flow to Pluit Dam

Head of River and Central Flow Beach System Division, Jakarta Water Management Dept, Robert Rajaguguk said, water flow from Manggarai is divided into three rivers, namely KBB‎, Gresik River and Ciliwung River towards Gunung Sahari.

"Water to Ciliwung will be flowed to Istiqlal Mosque, to west side-Jalan Gajah Mada, until sluice tank and flow to Pluit Dam," he expressed, Tuesday (3/1).

As for flow on the east, will go to Ciliwung River in Gunung Sahari-Marina Sluice Gate. The sluice will be opened if the sea is receding and remain closed when the tide.

"We set water flow from Istiqlal sluice, and flowed to west towards Gajah Mada," he told.

He added, this application runs well when the water flow is high enough from Manggarai. Considering water flow from Angke River coming into KBB is quite high, Manggarai is opened about 100 centimeters to reduce water volume.
