3 People Detained Over Act of Vandalism at Duri Railway Station Post

The ranks of Tambora Metro Sector Police Detective and Crime Unit has detained three suspects over acts of vandalism against the post of Duri Railway Station, Tambora, West Jakarta. One of those suspects is known a provocateur.

According to Adj. Comr. Widharma Jaya, Chief of Detective and Crime Unit for Tambora Metro Sector Police, the suspects were detained on Sunday (4/13) morning. They are identified as Irwan (23), Supriyono (32), and Syarifudin (51). The arrest began when police detained Syarifudin, alleged a provocateur at his home in Kalianyar, Tambora. Then its arrest followed by Irwan and Supriyono.
"Based on one of suspects' statement, Syarifudin had incited them to damage the station because of could not wait for the queue when exchanging ticket. Due to drunk, brawl with train officers could not be avoided," he told, Monday (4/14).
Nevertheless, the police are still hunting other suspects who have been identified. To account for suspect actions, they will be charged under Article 170 of the Criminal Code on confinement, which carries a maximum sentence of more than five years in prison.
As known, such tragedy happened at around 22.15 PM, Friday (3/23). It was conducted by five people in a drunken condition.
At that time, they provoke other citizens to throw the station using stones until its glass broken and cause two officers injured. Ironically, the suspects also stole the officers' bags containing cash money worth Rp 700,000, vehicle registration, driver's license, and ATM card.
