RTH in Cibubur Becomes Illegal TPS

A green open space (RTH) that is located at Jalan Makam Barat, RT 07/14 Cibubur, Ciracas, East Jakarta has been changed into illegal waste disposal site (TPS). How ironic, related unit has not transported waste that has been piling up more than one year around the place.

Lukman, (47), a local resident expressed, the waste heaps at the site reach two meters and outspread up to 50 square meters wide.

"Even, waste dominated by plastic stuck on the RTH's fence," he told, Monday (3/7).

When being confirmed on this matter, Cibubur Urban Village Head, Sapto Tjahjadi admitted has made a report to East Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-dept and Jakarta Cleanliness Dept. But, until now, there has been no further action. His side cannot pick up such waste due to unavailable of heavy equipment.

"I've reported the matter to related unit in order to avoid land misuse," he expressed.

East Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-dept, Budi Mulyanto said will immediately pick up waste heaps around RTH gradually. His side also asks for assistance from Jakarta Park and Cemetery Dept to guard the land.

"But we'll pick up the waste gradually and is targeted to be complete in a week," he closed.
