Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama acknowledged that transportation services like Uber and Grab Car have never paid taxes. All this time, they have been summoned several times to discuss his whereabouts. But until now they have not yet registered.
"They (Grab and Uber) said have the company, but we never received it. We have met them, if you want to open business, you must pay tax first," he said, at City Hall, Monday (3/14).
Transport Company must Develop Its ServiceHe assessed, if they want to be categorized as small and medium enterprises (UMKM), they will be charged tax by 1 percent. Thereby, competition between public transport entrepreneurs will go well.
"Our requirement is just tax payment," he asserted.
