Ali Sadikin Proposed as National Hero

The city administration proposed Jakarta Governor, Ali Sadikin period 1966-1977 as a National Hero. In 2010, he been proposed as a candidate of National Hero but failed to be realized.

This is the right time to give the title of national hero to him

"He (Ali Sadikin) was proposed as a national hero in 2010, but it did not realized due to technical administrative issues, especially for academic study. We will be restarted it. It's time he was given the title of national hero," said Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, at City Hall, Wednesday (3/16).

Personally, he assessed, Ali Sadikin highly deserves to get the title of National Hero. Because, he was assessed has contributed much ideas for the betterment of the capital.

He also mentioned, he who was believed by first President, Sukarno to fix Jakarta for eleven years.

"This is the right time to give the title of national hero to him. Because he is laying the basis of development, his service was outstanding. We'll take care of it, especially in fulfilling the terms of the administration," he closed.
