According to Bambang Surya Putra, Control and Informatic Section, Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), the cause of high rainfall is a convergence in Java Sea to Flores Sea, the wind bends that extends in Riau Islands to West Kalimantan and North Sulawesi to North Maluku.
