Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama acknowledged already has permit from Transportation Ministry thus the brand-holder sole (ATPM) to conduct KIR test. It is hoped to minimize cheating in its test.

"I already get permit from Transportation Ministry, where the brand-holder sole can do KIR test, we just send people," he expressed, at City Hall, Friday (3/18). 

After that, the city administration is going to revise bylaw. By so, vehicle old is no longer limited by age, but by KIR.

"For instance, if you have a old car, you have to pass KIR first and then rejuvenated in ATPM. You should spend money between 40-50 percent," he told.

He believes it would eliminate cheating potential. Because, all this time, there is still found spare-part rental to pass KIR. But after being tested, the spare part will be replaced again.

"The case is mostly conducted by public transport to pass KIR," he closed.
