The city administration keeps tightening food supervision in the market. Until the end of March, Jakarta Marine, Agriculture and Food Security Dept has conducted it in 60 traditional markets.

Head of Food Security Section, Jakarta Marine, Agriculture and Food Security Dept, Sri Haryati disclosed, from entire traditional markets, his dept will supervise 126 markets and 5 fishery centers in the city.

From 60 markets, as many as 3,790 samples are collected. 109 of them consist of tofu, bread, kerisi fish, slated squid, snapper fish, jambal, kembung banjar (a variety of sardines), tuna, swordfish, and fresh squid containing hazardous substances.

"We put the stall with a sticker and reprimand the peddler. If we found it again, we will evict them from the market," he asserted.

She admitted PD Pasar Jaya also has formed an independent team to do the same thing. Thus it could be done routinely in each market.
