Jakartans Enthused Healthcare Service Provided in Markets

Free healthcare service center (Puspelkes) built by Jakarta Provincial Government in traditional markets are enthused by Jakartans. Jakarta Health Department noted there are at least 150 residents come every day to get medical treatment.

Head of Jakarta Health Department, Dien Emmawati, said that actually her party has built the healthcare service center since 2013, but many residents did not know its existence yet. The concept is very effective, because it accommodates residents who do not have time or lazy going to the community health center (puskesmas).

To get medical treatment, Emmawati explained that the residents only have to come to healthcare service center, fill sign-up form, and queue, which similar to the service in community health center.

At this time, Jakarta Health Department has built 17 healthcare service centers in big traditional markets, such as in Tanah Abang, Kramatjati, and Cibubur. In addition, such service is also provided in Marunda Flat as well as in Stovia Building, Senen, Central Jakarta.

“Just yesterday we received additional units for healthcare service center in Stovia Building. We also want to add 10 more units in big markets,” she told.
