RSUD Patient Complained of Expensive Medicine

High inflation and production cost becomes the reason of medicine manufacturers raising medicine price. In fact, most of our societies are still covering the health cost by themselves. It is truly burdening them much.

A family of Cengkareng Local Hospital (RSUD) patient, Dedi (31), complained for this matter. During a recent year, he should spent Rp 200 thousand for medicine each time his brother having medical treatment for lung.

"The medicine price is almost unreachable since my family financial condition is also low. It's burdening us much," Dedi complained.

Dedi admitted, when his brother was hospitalized in RSUD Cengkareng last year, the cost for room and treatment was cheap. He shocked when doctor gave him prescription to buy medicine Rp 300 - 700 thousand totally.

Responding this matter, RSUD Cengkareng Public Relation, Agung, explained that the medicine price has referred to National Formula (Fornas) issued by Ministry of Health.

"We also have not socialize generic medicine because the KJS (Jakarta Smart Card) is going to be transformed into BPJS," he explained.
