Park Benches in West Jakarta Well Maintained

The case of park benches being destructed and stolen is regretted by many. To prevent it from happening again, Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Department cooperates with TNI/police to hold patrol to make sure the existing park benches are in well maintained condition for the public.

Two months ago, there was somebody who tried to steal those benches by removing its bolts. But because there was Satpol PP officer on guard, the person canceled his bad action

In West Jakarta alone, there are at least 20 park benches installed in CNI courtyard, Kembangan. Based on beritajakarta.com observations, those white-painted benches are in good condition with bolts still attached.

“I love to enjoy evening atmosphere in here (CNI courtyard). However, the benches are still not enough. This courtyard is visited by many people every day, especially in the afternoon,” said Lukman Hakim (18), a resident of RT 04/06, Meruya Utara Urban Village, Saturday (4/19).

City Leaves Park Benches Destruction to the Police

Meanwhile, Head of Park Section for West Jakarta Park Sub-Department, Sulis, uttered that the park benches in CNI courtyard were installed four months ago. To secure those benches from irresponsible people, his party routinely holds control and coordinates with Satpol PP.

“Two months ago, there was somebody who tried to steal those benches by removing its bolts. But because there was Satpol PP officer on guard, the person canceled his bad action,” told Sulis.

Based on that experience, besides deploying officers to safeguard, West Jakarta Park Sub-Department also coordinates with local RT/RW officials to do supervision.
