Bridge in RW 02 Cibesel Repaired

The bridge on Jalan Panca Marga 11, RW 02, Cipinang Besar Selatan (Cibesel) Urban Village, Jatinegara Sub-District, East Jakarta, which previously had weak contour and not feasible due to old age, is finally repaired.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, dozens of workers are busy repairing the bridge by digging foundations on its left and right sides. All this time, the bridge connects residents’ settlement in RW 02 Cibesel to Jalan DI Panjaitan.

Taryono (64), a local, admitted happy the old bridge being repaired. “I’m scared whenever I crossed the bridge. Besides, if the river below it overflowed, the bridge will be inundated,” he told, Saturday (4/19).

According to Chief of RW 02 Cibesel, Sumardiyono, the bridge was built in 1976. After filing complaints since these last few years, East Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department finally responded it. “We are grateful, the letters we sent were responded by (East Jakarta) Road Public Works Sub-Department,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Budi Apul Sinaga, said the bridge will be elevated so it would not be inundated again when the river overflowed. In addition, his party will also widen the bridge from originally 80 centimeters to 2.7 meters, and extended it from 13 meters to become 17 meters. “We are targeting the work to finish in two months,” he stated.
