Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama is going to open coordination meeting along with several ministries to discuss reclamation project towards 17 islands at Jakarta Bay. As planned, the meeting will be held at the office of Maritime Coordinator Ministry, Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta.

This afternoon, we will hold meeting with Minister of Maritime Coordination, Rizal Ramli and Minister of Maritime and Fishery. We want to discuss about reclamation

"This afternoon, we will hold meeting with Minister of Maritime Coordination, Rizal Ramli and Minister of Maritime and Fishery. We want to discuss about reclamation," stated Basuki, at City Hall, Monday (4/18).

According to him, such meeting will be held at around 4 PM after recommendation from Commission IV DPR to stop reclamation temporarily.  

He assessed, reclamation is allowed. Even, General Director of Maritime and Coastal and Small Islands, Sudirman Saad said that it could save Jakarta Bay.

"He taught me, if the bay is contaminated, the way is through reclamation to absorb toxins," he disclosed.
