Djarot to Attend Commemoration of Earth Day

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat is scheduled to attend the commemoration of Earth Day at Kramat Jati Market, which falls on May 10.

It is hoped, the commemoration that held by Indonesian Market and Peddler Alliance (APPSINDO), will encourage the awareness of traders and citizens in keeping the environment clean.

Djarot Wants Traditional Markets to Be Arranged

He assessed, the city administration has the same mission with APPSINDO. Hence, he will attend the event.

APPSINDO Chairman, Hasan Basri disclosed, all this time, the traditional market is synonymous with dirty and chaotic. Therefore, with the anniversary of the Earth Day, his side hopes to build the paradigm of peddlers and residents in maintaining cleanliness.

"The aim is to change the paradigm of peddlers and residents who consider traditional markets are always dirty. We hope Mr. Djarot could come," he finished.
