Djarot Wants Religious Organizations as Filter Culture During AEC

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, invites Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah support and act as a cukture filter in the Asean Economic Community (AEC).

He assessed, Muhammadiyah has a commitment to improve education, health, entrepreneurship and social service. Because of the alignment, he assess there must be the need for synergy between the Government and Muhammadiyah.

"According to my experience and observation when I led Blitar, there are four fields that are the main characteristics of the Muhammadiyah movement. They are da'wah movement of amar ma'ruf nahi munkar (enjoying what is just, forbidding what is wrong), and this is typical of Indonesia, Muhammadiyah," he stated, when he attended the inauguration of Jakarta Muhammadiyah Head, Jakarta Aisyiyah Leader Period 2015-2020, in Multipurpose Hall, on second floor of South Jakarta Mayor Office, Saturday (4/16).

One of the underlying need for synergy, is a global competition of AEC that is already in sight.

"I have said this is really very extraordinary challenges, especially in the fields of education, health, and entrepreneurship," he expressed.

By so, he furthered, the Indonesian people will not lose their identity. He emphasized, human construct is not only smart, but the soul, the character, the personality, the spirit of all Indonesian, and religiosity.

"How Muhammadiyah participate to develop this as a fortress to be against the infiltration of cultures coming in. I'm not anti-foreign, but we must be selective, it must have a filter. Let us all together to build Jakarta without mutual pitting, but woke harmony, this togetherness in a good way," he finished.
