Police Prepare Traffic Diversion for May Day

Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya Traffic has prepared a traffic diversion on May Day which falls on Sunday (5/1). Predictably, thousands of workers will hold a massive demonstration. 

During May Day, the worker is prohibited to pass through Jl Sudirman-Thamrin

Considering its commemoration coincided with a car free day (HBKB). The areas that will be imposed with traffic diversion, are Harmony Traffic Light and around Presidential Palace, Fountain Roundabout or Monas, Kebon Sirih-Sarinah, HI Roundabout and around DPR/MPR Building.

Director of Polda Metro Jaya Traffic, Sr. Comr, Risyaoudin Nursin disclosed traffic diversion is also adjusted with the implementation of the Car Free Day which takes place from 6-11 AM.

"During May Day, the worker is prohibited to pass through Jl Sudirman-Thamrin," he stressed, Saturday (4/30).

Eventually, the workers will gather at the horse statue at around 8 AM to express their aspirations, at some points such as Presidential Palace, DPR/MPR Building and Gelora Bung Karno as the last point.

Here are the composition of traffic diversion during May Day, as follow:

1. Harmoni Traffic Light and Around Presidential Palace

- Vehicles from Jalan Suryo Pranoto heading to Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, will be straightened to Jalan Juanda or rerouted to turn left to Jalan KH. Hasyim Ashari-Grogol-Jalan S. Parman and Daan Mogot. 

- From Hayam Wuruk towards Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, will be rerouted to turn left to Jalan Juanda-Jalan Pos-DR. Sutomo-Gunung Sahari, and so forth.

- From Medan Merdeka Utara towards TL Oteva, will be rerouted to Veteran 1. And from Veteran 1 towards Harmoni, must go to Jalan Juanda-Pasar Baru.

- From Medan Merdeka Timur, will be rerouted to Jalan Perwira. In Fountain Roundabout or Monas, vehicles from Jalan Abdul Muis towards Medan Merdeka Barat or Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin will be rerouted to Jalan Abdul Muis-Jalan Facherudin and so forth.

- From Kwitang Senen towards Monas will be rerouted to Gunung Agung or Medan Merdeka Timur, Gambir, and so forth.   

2. Kebon Sirih and Sarinah

- Vehicles from Abdul Muis heading to Kebon Sirih, will be rerouted to Jalan Facherudin-KH Mas Mansyur, so forth. 

- From Agus Salim, will be rerouted to turn right to Kebon Sirih-Tugu Tani

3. Around HI Roundabout 

- Vehicles from Sudirman heading to HI Roundabout, will b rerouted to Jalan Tanjung Karang-Kendal-Latu harhari, or Tanjung Karang-turn left to Blora- back again to Jalan Sudirman towards Semanggi.

- From Kendal towards Tanjung Karang, traffic will be closed and rerouted to Blora-turn left to Sudirman towards Semanggi. 

- From Imam Bonjol, will be rerouted to Jalan Pemekasan

4. Around MPR/DPR Building

- From Lapangan Tembak Traffic Light, vehicles from Jalan Asia Afrika will be directed to turn back to Jalan Asia Afrika or Palmerah Police Station.

- From Senayan Flyover, vehicles from east will be rerouted to turn left to Jalan Gerbang Pemuda, and not straight toward in front of MPR/DPR Building. 

- From south, will be rerouted to flyover towards Semanggi or turn back through under flyover towards lapangan tembak

- From Semanggi, vehicles from east must turn left to Senayan Roundabout and not straight to the west.

- From south, will be directed to north of HI Roundabout and from north will be directed to Senayan Roundabout. 

- Lastly, from Palmerah Police Station, vehicles from north such as Pejompongan or Manggala will be straightened to Permata Hijau.
