The shortcut (sodetan) of CIliwung-East Flood Canal (KBT) has function to minimize flood in Jakarta. It will divide water load from Ciliwung river to KBT.

Teguh Hendarwan, Jakarta Head Dept. of Water Management, admitted Ciliwung water debit would increase during rainy season. In KBT, water debit is low.

Now the project has touched at Cipinang river side, but city administration faces a law process. The project is run by central government’s BBWSCC.
“We have lost in PTUN, but we try for cassation,” he added.
According to him, the project should not be canceled because it will give benefit for citizens.
