Project of Ciliwung-KBT Waterway can't Be Cancelled

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama revealed that project of a waterway in Ciliwung-East Flood Canal (KBT) will remain be carried out, even though it is protested by Bidara Cina citizens, Jatingara, East Jakarta.

"Project of a waterway in Ciliwung-East Flood Canal (KBT) cannot be cancelled," he asserted, at City Hall, Thursday (4/28).

According to him, the waterway can reduce water volume in Ciliwung River by 60 cubic per second.

"Water will be disposed to the KBT through waterway. If it is protested, it won't be realized," he expressed.

He continued, the project is supposed to be used two drills. Due to protest from citizens, his party only operates one unit from Cipinang River towards KBT.

Basuki deplores, East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardana should be able to be more assertive when residents proposed a lawsuit to the State Administrative Court (PTUN). Considering, Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct land acquisition in the region.

"We're also willing to conduct land compensation," he finished.
