ITF will Be Built in Kramat Jati Market

An inner-city waste handling site or called as Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) will be built in Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta.

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat disclosed it is the seriousness of the city administration in development of ITF, that is by acquiring the land in the capital.

"Mr. Governor has acquired a land behind for waste handling site," he disclosed, at City Hall, Wednesday (5/11).

ITF Is Believed to Reduce Waste from Bantar Gebang

Such land has a width of 3,600 square meters. It is located behind the market. The ITF is deemed able to give good benefits for traders and buyers who are in the market.

"Later on, the waste will be processed and produced energy through bio decomposer technology. Thus the lights in the market will use that energy and even can also be used for cooking. Then the waste is used as fertilizer," he explained.

He asserted that ITF is much needed in the market. Considering, waste in the market reaches approximately 60 tons per day. It could reduce waste volume in Bantar Gebang Landfill, Bekasi.
