“In rainy season few months ago, our settlement was inundated until 1.5 meters high. What is worse, the project is stalled and has not been started again until now,” complained Hamid Efendi (50), resident of RW 01 Kapuk Muara, Friday (4/25).

Responding that, Head of North Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Wagiman Silalahi, admitted that one of the causes of flooding in that region is the uninstalled sheet pile on Angke River plaster along 300 meters. The condition is worsened by the micro channel that is not working optimally due to it blocked by buildings. However, he ensured that the construction project of Angke River sheet pile will be continued this year by Jakarta Public Works Department.
