Kodam Jaya’s 34 Ha Land Impacted by Ciliwung Normalization

Jakarta Provincial Government together with Kodam Jaya and Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of land utilization. 34 ha of Kodam Jaya’s land is impacted by Ciliwung normalization.

Sheet Pile Construction in Kampung Pulo CompletedThe impacted lands is at Rindam Jaya complex, Gedong Urban Village, Zeni complex in Rawajati Urban Village, and Berlan in Kebon Manggis Urban Village.
Meanwhile, Mudjiadi, General Directorate of Water Resource for Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, stated that total land is 54 ha. The land is used for flood management in Jakarta.
Flood management is done comprehensively starting from upstream, midstream, and downstream.Two reservoirs, Ciawi and Sukamahi, Bogor will be constructed in upstream. 13 rivers normalization, including Ciliwung river will be done in midstream, and in downstream is National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) program.
Jakarta's Military Command chief Maj. Gen. Teddy Lhaksmana, admitted his side will not disturb program in Jakarta. That is why the land is given to city administration directly.
“We’ll support Jakarta Provincial Government’s program fully,” he closed.
