Residents Disturbed by Trash Piles on Jalan KS Tubun 3

The residents living on Jalan KS Tubun 3, Slipi Urban Village, Palmerah Sub-District, West Jakarta, are complaining about the trashes piled in their settlement. Besides dirty, the piles are also spreading rotten smell and disturbing residents’ convenience.

Neneng (34), a resident of RT 01/04 Slipi, admitted that she and other residents are very annoyed by those trash piles. “I don’t want to pass on Jalan KS Tubun 3. The trash piles’ smell is very sting and flies are everywhere,” she lamented, Sunday (4/27).

Sandi (52), a janitor on Jalan KS Tubun 3, said that trashes are piling up because the dump truck only comes twice a week to pick up the trashes. On the other hand, trash volume there is high because the area is densely populated.

Jatinegara Residents Complained about Piling Trashes

The condition is also worsened by the fact that trashes from flooding happened early this year are still have not been picked up. “There are trashes which left from the flooding happened early this year. Since it has not been picked up for four months, it causes rotten smell,” he uttered.

Sandi hopes West Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department would deploy heavy equipment to transport the trashes on Jalan KS Tubun 3. “Due to there are many trashes, we hope that (West Jakarta) Cleanliness Sub-Department would deploy its heavy equipment here,” he expressed.
