Upgrading Panggang Island Ring Road Becomes Priority

Upgrading the Panggang Island Ring Road as a measure to help curb sea waves and prevent coastal abrasion became a major focus of the 2026 Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang) of Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands.

"...to anticipate abrasion, support sports facilities, and improve inter-area connectivity,"

North Jakarta Thousand Island Sub-district Head Yulihardi said that Musrenbang is part of development planning process that combines a bottom-up approach through community proposals and a top-down approach through central and regional governments' strategic program.

"All community proposals will be discussed in this forum. Meanwhile, proposals that haven't been accommodated will be further discussed at UKPD forum together with related sub-agencies and regent," he stated on Wednesday (2/4).

Yulihardi stressed the importance of cross-sectoral support, including from the Jakarta Council (DPRD), to ensure that Panggang Island residents' aspirations can be pursued through to realization.

"Tidung Island and Kelapa Island already have outer ring roads. Panggang Island also needs an upgraded outer ring road to anticipate abrasion, support sports facilities, and improve inter-area connectivity," he explained.

Panggang Island Urban Village Head Jamaluddin shared that prior to the Musrenbang, his side had held preparatory meeting with RT/RW heads and related parties to finalize the proposals.

"All proposals discussed today reflect the aspirations of residents. We have set priorities to ensure the proposed programs meet the community needs," he added.

He noted that in this Musrenbang, Panggang Island Urban Village discussed a total of 25 proposals from 5 RWs, consisting of 15 physical development proposals and 10 goods procurement proposals.

"Of the total proposals, 12 could not yet be input as recommendation due to compliance with prevailing regulations," he explained.

On the other hand, North Thousand Islands Regency Council member, Sahdan, expressed his commitment to overseeing community aspirations through to the regency level.

"I hope the outer ring road of Panggang Island can be improved and well arranged so the area becomes more attractive and eco-friendly," he said.
